Ilona Särkkö - Independent researcher and  Visual Artist

“Regardless of form, these beings all remain human: a man becomes a woman becomes a plant becomes a jaguar becomes a machine becomes a beat becomes a code becomes a particle.”

Ashkan Sepahvand
Everything I learned about techno-capitalism,

I learned at Berghain, 2015

Liina Ilona Särkkö (Helsinki, 1993) is a Finnish curator and multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Milan.

Her artistic research revolves around themes related to identity and care, raising awareness of the ability to choose how we perform ourselves, and extending this practice to everyday life.

She interprets empathy, intimacy, and vulnerability as radical and revolutionary acts that can offer an alternative lens for looking at each other and society. Her works that investigate xeno and trans-feminist issues, offer a reflection on the important role that culture, as well as written and spoken language, play in the construction of our subjectivity, whether social, precarious, or collective.
